Occasionally we run across one of those hotels that could have left a mixed impression upon us. This was the case for the H10 Berlin Ku’damm Hotel. But in the end, the friendly efficient staff made sure our stay was enjoyable.
We chose the hotel for its great location on Kurfürstendamm Avenue, western Berlin's main shopping street lined with trendy upscale shops and boutiques. It was also only a short walk to the famous KaDeWe department store, the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church and the Zoo.
The hotel is very near the Kurfürstendamm Underground Station (U1 and U9) and only 500 m away from the “Bahnhof Zoologischer Garten” Train and Uban/Sban station. This location proved to be very convenient for traveling around Berlin.

From the H10 Berlin Ku'damm, we were also able to walk along Kurfürstendamm Avenue to what turned out to be two favorite café’s perfectly located for relaxing while people-watching after a long day of sight-seeing, so the location of this hotel is really fantastic.
The hotel which opened in 2011 is housed inside a historic building, so the honey-colored brick façade is already a glimpse into Berlin’s past. When you step inside, the hotel is modern and stylish and definitely has the feel of a luxury business hotel.
When we arrived, our introduction to the hotel was a fight with a very tricky luggage elevator, and in the end, we hauled our bags up two flights of stairs to the lobby. Fortunately, we were greeted by a very nice and professional desk clerk who checked us in to our junior suite and we headed up a different set of fortunately perfectly working elevators to our room.

Unfortunately, the room had the distinct lingering smell of cigarette smoke even though the hotel room was a non-smoking room. We immediately called our friendly efficient desk clerk and she found another room in the same category for us. We were moved to a new suite that smelled fresh and smoke-free.
The junior suite we had booked turned out to be furnished in a modern simple style. The bed was very comfortable and the room even offered my favorite perk; an espresso maker. We were welcomed with yummy chocolates which we enjoyed later with a coffee.
The bathroom was sparkling clean, modern and well-appointed with an amazing selection of complementary toiletries. Needless to say, as with many European hotels, there were only a couple English-speaking channels on the TV, but if you are visiting Berlin, you don’t want to be in your room watching TV anyway!
One of my favorite parts of the hotel was its stylish bar which was busy with patrons each evening and was always a last stop for us before retiring for the night. We also had an opportunity to try room service one night when we were too exhausted to go out for dinner. It was delivered promptly and the juicy hamburgers accompanied by glasses of red wine were fantastic!
We also loved the large, bright breakfast room which offered an impressive and delicious array of breakfast delicacies.
Since we had booked a Junior Suite, we also had access to the “Privilege” room where we could pick up snacks and drinks for free during the day. The hotel offers gym and spa facilities which we didn’t have time to try out but they looked so relaxing!
Overall, we enjoyed our stay at H10 Berlin Ku’damm and we would recommend it as a stylish, comfortable, business and tourist hotel.
